Auburn fan offers reward for missing ‘Tiger Jake’ dog

One of Auburn’s unofficial mascots, “Tiger Jake,” is missing, and his owner is asking for help.

Jake, a mainstay at SEC Media Days and home games, has been missing since Nov. 10. He got out of a screened porch at his home in Pelham, according to owner John Ronald Sanford.

Jake is a small white Maltese with dyed orange ears and tail. He has a tag and collar on him and he is known to be very friendly, Sanford said.

Sanford did not respond to a request for comment by AL.com, but on Instagram said he has offered a $1,000 reward for Jake’s safe return.

“I’ll never give up. I mean, he’s family. I’ll keep looking as long as I’m around here,” Sanford told MSN.

Sanford said anyone who finds the dog can call Altadena Valley Animal Clinic or contact him directly at (205) 492-6956.
